Gladwin, Zilla (Laity) 1877 - 1959

Clayton County Register, Thur., 23 July 1959.

Funeral services for Mrs. Zilla Gladwin, 82, were held at the First Methodist Church in Strawberry Point Monday afternoon, July 20, with the Rev. Robert L. Smith conducting the service. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Zilla Laity was born on a farm south of Strawberry Point April 26, 1877, the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth A. Hebron Laity. She received a public school education and in 1900 was married to Joe Gladwin at Manchester. She lived in the Strawberry Point area all her life and died at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Manchester Friday, July 17, having been a patient there for about two and a half months.

She is survived by one brother, Jay Laity of Manchester. Her husband, three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
