Funeral services for Mrs. Harry (Hannah Adeline) Toole, 67, of Lamont, were held Monday, Oct. 26, at 1:30 p.m., at the Gill Chapel in Strawberry Point. Mrs. Toole died Oct. 23, 1959, at the Mental Health Institute in Independence, where she had been for the past 13 months.
Born Sept. 24, 1892, at Strawberry Point, she was the daughter of Richard and Hannah (Simpson) Alderson. On June 26, 1918, she was married to Harry J. Toole at Dubuque.
She was a public school teacher and taught five years in Lamont, one year in Odebolt and one in a rural school. After her marriage she clerked in a department store owned and operated by her husband in Lamont. She had a high school education, was a member of the Methodist Church, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Royal Neighbors of America.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and her husband, who died in April, 1957. She is survived by four sisters and one brother: Mrs. Elizabeth Gladwin, Manchester; Mrs. Mayme Clegg, Mrs. Roy Nace and Mrs. Ray Alderson, Strawberry Point; and John Alderson, Weiser, Idaho.
Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery with the Rev. Robert Smith, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating.
