Funeral services for Adolph Kuester, 53, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethren church with Rev. A, W. Ebert officiating.
Burial was in Council Hill cemetery.
Mr. Kuester died suddenly Monday afternoon, May 31, at Milwaukee, Wis., from a heart attack. He had, however, been in ill health for the last two years.
He was born a son of Charles and Anna, nee Levenhagen, Kuester, July 29, 1900, in Allamakee county. For the last ten years he has lived in Milwaukee.
While here, he was for many years a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church at Watson, but after taking residence at Milwaukee, he attended the Lutheran church. He was a veteran of Word War II.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Chester (Elsie) Hastings of Waukon, Mrs. Leo (Alma) Sekretarski of Milwaukee, and Melinda of Monona; and one brother, Hugo of Milwaukee, and five nieces and five nephews.
Music at the services was provided by Mrs. Justus Kammerer, soloist, who sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Mrs. Ebert presided at the organ.
Pallbearers were: Kenneth Kuester, Robert Peters, Keith Hastings, Donald Levenhagen, Reuben Kuester, Leo Moses, Elmer Topel, and Leslie Fett.
