Funeral services for Mrs. Ora Lingard were held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the Gill Chapel in Strawberry Point. Interment was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
Mrs. Lingard died at 4:00 a.m., Oct. 1, at the Moser nursing home where she had been for the past four and one-half years.
Born March 17, 1881, she was the daughter of Richard and Catherine (Edwards) Clark of Jackson County, Iowa. On Feb. 6, 1897, she was married to Fred Massey of Jackson County, and on February 14, 1940, she was united in marriage with Gilbert Lingard in Dubuque. She was a member of the Methodist Church and of the WSCS.
Preceded in death by her first husband, two infant sons and her parents, she is survived by her husband, Gilbert Lingard of Dubuque, three daughters, six sons, 32 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. Kyle (Lottie) Alden, Center Junction, Iowa; Mrs. Clarence (Dorothy) Puls, Dubuque, and Mrs. LaVerne (Catherine) Metz, Springfield, Mo. The six sons are Elman, Joe, Dillon, Dale, Blair and Edgar Massey, all of Dubuque.
