Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock occurred the death of Mrs. Patrick Donahoe, of Read township, after a very short sickness, with inflammation of the bowels. The news of her death was a great surprise to her many friends, as she was in good health on Monday until about supper time when she was taken sick and grew rapidly worse until death came to her relief.

Mrs. Donahoe was a native of Ireland, where she was born in 1832, but came to this country many years ago, and was married to Mr. D., who survives her, in Read township. Five children are also left to mourn the death of a loving mother. Deceased was a good, Christian woman, a kind neighbor, and her death will be deeply mourned by all who knew her.

The funeral takes place today from the Catholic church at Garnavillo.
