Mrs. C. J. Orr, wife of C. J. Orr, Volga bank cashier, died Sunday evening, Dec. 20, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. She had undergone major surgery a few days before her death.
The body will be brought to the Blake and Gill chapel in Volga on Thursday (today) at 10 a.m. and will lie in state until 1 p.m., when a half-hour service will be held at the chapel. A brief service is scheduled at the funeral home in Monona at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Monona.
Mrs. Orr had resided in Volga since 1947, moving here from Des Moines. When a young girl she lived at Monona where she graduated from high school. She also attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette.
Besides her husband, she leaves one son, Tom Orr, Des Moines, one granddaughter, Miss Toni Orr, Des Moines, one sister, Mrs. Ann Harroun, Seattle, Wash., and other relatives.
Mrs. Orr was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Ella Merritt Past Matrons club of Elkader, the Volga Study club and the Volga Legion Auxiliary.
