Funeral services for Raymond A. Kaiser Sr., 57, were held Sunday afternoon, Nov. 22, at 2 in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiating. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery at Monona.

Mr. Kaiser died Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Webster Grove, Mo., where he had been a patient in a hospital for a month.

He was born a son of J. F. Wm. Kaiser and Augusta Groth Kaiser, on a farm in Clayton County on Aug. 25, 1902. He was educated in the schools of Clayton County and the Monona High School. He moved with his parents to Monona which was his home until 1941.

He was married to Mildred Evans at Davenport, Iowa, on May 30, 1925. The Kaisers made their home in Monona where Mr. Kaiser operated a restaurant from 1929 until 1932. Later they moved to a farm near Volney, Iowa, where they remained until 1941 when they moved to Webster Grove, Mo., where Mr. Kaiser was a Pullman conductor.

He was a member of the Order of Railroad Conductors and Brakemen No. 709. He had been a member of the Lutheran Church all his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Julius, Arno, Edmund, William and Helmuth; and a sister, Elizabeth.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (June Ray) Kraft, West Union, Iowa; two sons, Raymond A. Kaiser Jr., Berkeley, Mo., and Don Carlos Kaiser, Aurora, Colo.; six grandchildren; three brothers, Emil of Larned, Kansas; Arthur and Ernest, Monona; five sisters, Mrs. Arnold Hoferer, Clay Center, Neb.; Mrs. Fred Drahn, Mrs. Carl Schultz, Mrs. Hildegard Kishman, and Miss Elsie Kaiser, all of Monona; nephews, nieces and other relatives.

Music for the services was provided by Don Sabbann, Soloist, who sang "There's a Wideness in God's Mercy" and "In the Garden." Organist was Mrs. George Heins Jr.

Pallbearers were Walter Drahn, Glenn Drahn, Edwin Drahn, Everett Drahn, Gordon Schultz, Virgil Kaiser, Keith Kishman and Ed Cordes.
