Funeral services for Joseph Albert Holly, 74, were held at the Schultz funeral home on Thursday afternoon, May 14, with Rev. R. H. Steege, pastor of the Lutheran church at Farmersburg officiating. Burial was in the Gooding cemetery.
Mr. Holly died at Farmersburg on Tuesday, May 12. He was born in Giard township Feb. 28, 1879, a son of John and Mary Lestina Holly. He attended the rural schools of Giard township.
He was married to Mabel Moon, Dec. 31, 1912. The couple farmed east of Monona for several years, later moving to Farmersburg. Mr. Holly followed the trade of a carpenter. He retired a number of years ago. Mrs. Holly died at Farmersburg February, 1947. Mr. Holly's parents, five sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Survivors are: a sister, Mrs. Will Schrader of Monona; five brothers, Frank, Albert, George and Elmer, all of Monona, and Ven_iloff of Postville.
Sandra Schultz as soloist accompanied by Mrs. George Heins provided the music for the services.
Pallbearers were: Thomas and Donald Montgomery, Allan and Donald Bacon, and Norbert and Garry Holly.
