Funeral services for Mrs. L. L. Renshaw, 94, were conducted by the Rev. A. W. Ebert, pastor of Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethren church, at the Shultz funeral home on Monday afternoon, June 8. Burial was in the Monona City cemetery.
Mrs. Renshaw died at the home of her son, Dr. Kingsley Renshaw, in Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday, June 6, following a lingering illness.
As Amanda, she was born the daughter of Guy and Lucinda Ellsworth Kingsley, at the farm home on Pleasant Ridge in Clayton county on Dec. 17, 1858. She received her education in the local country school and later attended Iowa State Teachers college. Mrs. Renshaw then returned to this county where she taught for several years in the rural schools.
She was married to Dr. L. L. Renshaw on Nov. 21, 1883. They established their home in Farmersburg, later moving to Monona.
Following the death of Dr. Renshaw in 1912, Mrs. Renshaw maintained residence here in Monona until 1919 when she moved to Rochester, Minn., and later to Toledo, Ohio.
While a resident in Monona, Mrs. Renshaw was a very active member of the Congregational church and took a responsive and active part in community affairs.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Kingsley Renshaw of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. L. N. Kramer of Los Angeles,, Calif.; a brother, Rufus Kingsley of McGregor. Four sons, her parents, three brothers, six sisters preceded her in death.
