Funeral services for Ernest R. Fett, 63, who died at the McGregor hospital Wednesday, August 26, were held at Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethren church at Monona on Saturday afternoon, August 27 with the Rev. A. W. Ebert, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the city cemetery.

Mr. Fett, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fett, was born on a farm in Linton township, Allamakee county, on Feb. 6, 1890. He received his education in the rural schools of this community, and spent the early years of his life at the home of his parents working for them on the farm.

On February 19, 1919, he was married to Mayme Hansel. They established their home in Monona where he lived the remainder of his life.

For many years Mr. Fett was engaged in the carpenter trade and for the past three years was employed at the State hospital in Independence.

He was a member of the Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethren church of Monona. He was an ardent reader and enjoyed the associations of friends and family very much.

Surviving are his wife; his aged mother, Mrs. Minnie Fett of Monona; six sisters, Lydia Fett of Chicago; Marie Davis of Monona; (Elsie) Mrs. Frank Marron of Calmar, Iowa; (Mattie) Mrs. Lon Burlingame of Froelich, Iowa; (Elda) Mrs. Orlando Marting of Monona; (Lorena) Mrs. Walter Pettit of McGregor; one brother, Leslie Fett of Froelich, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Fett; three brothers, William, Charles, and Oscar, and one sister, Elizabeth.

Music for the services was provided by Mary Lou Marting and Sharon Le Moon who sang "Garden of Prayer" and "Near the Cross." Ramon Hass, organist, was the accompanist.

Pallbearers were: Micky Bindig, Wallace Marting, Donald Pettit, George Pederson, David Schlitter, and Dayton Schlitter.

(Note: Date of services should have been the 29th.)
