Thelma Marie Ferguson, age 85, of Marquette, Iowa died on Friday, June 3, 2005 at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in McGregor with Rev. David Zimmer officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in McGregor.

Thelma Marie was born to Gilbert and Christine (Roraas) Halverson on April 17, 1920 in Postville, Iowa. She married Wayne Ferguson on July 22, 1943 in St. Olaf, Iowa. Early in her life she taught in rural schools in Clayton County, Iowa. Thelma and Wayne farmed for many years in Clayton County. She was also a hostess at the Pink Elephant Supper Club in Marquette. She enjoyed her family get-togethers, especially those with her grandchildren. Thelma was also active in her church.

Thelma Marie Ferguson is survived by her six children: Terry (Rinda) Ferguson, Trudy (Don) Hackett, all of Marquette, Vicki (Terry) Seeley of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Mark (Debbie) Ferguson and Bruce Ferguson, all of McGregor, and Brian Ferguson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; two brothers Hiram (Irene) Halverson of Prairie du Chien, and Palmer (Darlene) Halverson of Monona, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wayne; two grandsons Jamie Hackett and Brent Hackett; and five siblings: Alvin Halverson, Lyla Green, Minerva Kronberg, Esther Henkes, and Louis Halverson.
