Died - In Monona Nov. 16, 1891, Mrs. Louisa Woodward, widow of the late Parker Woodward, aged 86 years 7 months and 19 days.

Deceased was born in Westford, Mass., March 27th, 1805, was married to Parker Woodward Dec. 18, 1827. Unto them were born six children, the oldest, Geo. W., who went to Cal. in an early day and died there; Mrs. L.J. Jewett, who now resides in New York. The parents with the four remaining children came to Monona, Ia., in 1856. They are John W., who is the only son living, Mrs. A.S. Parish, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Harrison, who lost his life during the war and Mrs. W.F. Holford, who died 21 years ago.

Three children, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren survive her.

Mrs. Woodward was an affectionate companion, a kind mother always manifesting a deep interest in the welfare of her children during her long useful life. She will be greatly missed by them. During the last six weeks of her life she suffered much, but bore it with patience and resignation to the Divine will. In a conversation with me one she said, "I have no fear of the future. I believe it will be well with me. I am only waiting my time." She felt the sorrows and burdens of life witch had so heavily rested upon her during these last years were about to be rolled off, and she would soon be in that happy home where sorrows and burdens would be borne no more. Thank God there is such a home where we may all go if we will.

Also she will be missed by her neighbors for she had long lived by them and was ever ready to lend a helping hand when needed as long as she was able, and was highly respected by all who knew her. In her last sickness she had very care that a loving mother could have by two of her children and one grandchild as well as neighbors. May we all imitate her virtues and when our work is finished on earth be ready to hear the roll call for our home above.

The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. M. Polley from the late residence Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 18th.
