Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa for Robert Lee Trappe, age 75, of Monona who died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Central Community Hospital, Elkader, Iowa. Burial was in the Monona Eastside City Cemetery, Monona, Iowa.

Robert Lee Trappe was born on August 17, 1936 in Monona, Iowa to Victor and Ella (Kurth) Trappe. He graduated from the Monona High School. He married Sheron Kruse on June 30, 1959 at St.Paul Lutheran church, Monona, Iowa. Robert farmed the family farm his entire life and retired in 2009.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sheron; four children Larry (Lynette Ihde) Trappe, Lori (Kevin Welch) Trappe, Loren Trappe, and Leon (Kim) Trappe all of Monona; two grandchildren Ashley and Tyler Trappe of Monona; one great-grandchild Natalie; three step-grandchildren Kayla, Lynn, and Breanna all of Monona; two brothers Elmer (Mary) Trappe of Mason City, Iowa and Herbert (Donna) Trappe of Monona.

He was preceded in death by a son in infancy; a grandson Troy Trappe; his parents and four brothers Harold, Willard, Gaylord, and Emmett Trappe.
