Brother Died; Rites in Dubuque
Leonard E. Friedlein, 89, formerly of Dubuque and East Dubuque, Ill., died at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 1988 at Ennoble Manor Care Center, Dubuque.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at DeWachter-Haudenshild Funeral Home, Dubuque, with burial in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Mr. Friedlein was born June 9, 1899, at Millville, a son of Henry and Caroline (Rodenberg) Friedlein. He married Adele Habermann Oct. 12, 1923. He was a retired livestock dealer and a former mayor of East Dubuque.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Betty) Kuhle of Dubuque and Mrs. William (Adele) Kuhle of Joliet, Ill.; three sons, Thomas of Sterling, Ill., John of St. Charles, Ill., and David of Northfield, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Halverson of Janesville, Wis., Mrs. Dorothy Kinyon of Keosauqua, and Minnie Friedlein of Guttenberg; and a brother, Lawrence of Kerkhove, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1978 and a son, Robert in 1948.
