John Riniker passed away at his home here Sunday, September 18th, at the age of 53 years. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife and fifteen children; Joe, Clarence, Ambrose, and Hilda, children from a former marriage, and Jacob, George, Elizabeth, Florence, Mattie, Theodore, John, Walter, Elmer, Harold and Martin; and two grandchildren, Raymond and Marie Riniker; and five sisters, Mrs. Anne Roes, Mrs. Dealey Potter, Mrs. Mary Heckmann and Mrs. Lucy Greybill and Mrs. Lizzie Lorance.
Those attending the funeral from out of town were: Mrs. J. Standt, Marble Rock, Mrs. Paul Bery of La Crosse, Mrs. John Pins of Dubuque, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Ley of Cassville, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Junk of Guttenberg, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Curran Guttenberg, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Junk of Lancaster, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Junk, Guttenberg, Mrs. Will Heckman and Mrs. Jerry Potter of Dubuque, Mrs. Jacob Beckler and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Junk of Guttenberg, and John and Wm. Junk of Luxemberg. The pallbearers were: John Engling, George Hafel, Peter and Nick Breimeyer, Joe Spealbauer and John McDuffey.
The funeral was well attended and conducted by Rev. H. Haulthouse at the Catholic church, Wednesday morning, September 21st, at ten o'clock, and burial was made at the Catholic cemetery.
Mr. John Riniker was one of the old settlers here having lived here all his life, and his brother Jacob preceded him in death two years ago.
