Services for Raymond "Adrian" Ward, 82, of Guttenberg were conducted by Pastor Harold McMillin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, at St. John Lutheran Church, Guttenberg.

Mr. Ward died Saturday, Aug. 26, 1995, at Mercy Health Center in Dubuque after a short illness.

Visitation was at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home.

Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, rural Osterdock, with the following casket bearers: Merlin Barry, Ronnie Hyde, Curtis Torrey, Mike Barry, Loren Kregel, Dennis Sargent and Larry Meisner. Honorary bearers were Joe Muntz, Jim Ries, Oakland Becker, Mike Vorwald, Elmer Schaub and Ernest Kickbush.

Raymond "Adrian" Ward was born Dec. 25, 1912, on the family farm near Millville, a son of John and Elizabeth (Dorweiler) Ward. He graduated from Guttenberg High School in 1932, farmed with his family and owned and operated Ward's Plumbing and Heating in Gutenberg for many years. On Sept. 15, 1937, he was united in marriage in Guttenberg to Marie Hyde, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth "Ardelle" (and Vance) Brooks of Manchester and Mrs. Judith Ann (and Harlan) Balk of Lakeside, Calif.; two sons, Rodney (and Becky) Ward of Whittier, Calif., and Dennis (and Donna) Ward of Guttenberg; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Eva Troester of Manchester.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, and one grandson, Nicholas Rae.
