On last Sunday evening, May 22, 1921, at 9:50 o'clock at her home in this city occurred the death of Mrs. Louise Eckart-Dorweiler, another one of Guttenberg's most highly respected pioneer residents, after a several weeks illness. Mrs. Eckart-Dorweiler was born at Hazel Green, Wis., on January 29, 1848, and therefore was 73 years, three months and 23 days of age at the time of her death. When three years of age she came to Guttenberg to make her home, where she grew to womanhood and was married to Mr. Sebastian Eckart, on June 24, 1865, who preceded her in death on May 4, 1884. On January 11, 1893, she was again married at Guttenberg to Mr. Phillip Dorweiler, later going to West Bend, Iowa, with her husband to reside. Her second husband also preceded her in death on January 29, 1915. Soon after his death she returned to Guttenberg to spend the remainder of her life.
