Mr. Edmund Moore, whose death was briefly chronicled in the Journal last week, was an old and high respected citizen of the county. His funeral was attended last Friday, by a very large concourse of his old neighbors and friends.
He was born in Ireland in 1819, and was therefore aged 54 years. He came to American twenty two years ago, and to Clayton County seventeen years ago. He formerly lived at McGregor, but has been an honored citizen of Boardman township for the past twelve years.
His son, Patrick Moore, a young man of excellent qualities, being a leading member of the Catholic Temperance organization, the members of the Society of Elkader unite in the following Resolution of Condolence.
Resolved, That we the members of the St. P.T.A. Society of Elkader, hereby manifest our deep sympathy and condolence for Patrick Moore, the worthy and esteemed Vice President of our Society, in his late affliction the loss of his honored father, whom the Almighty has lately sundered by death form earthly ties and kindred. IN this deep affliction of our brother member we deeply sympathize with him, and offer our earnest condolence.
