John P. Kriebs, an old and very highly respected citizen of Guttenburg, died on Saturday the 16th inst. He lived in Guttenburg more than a quarter of a century; was Postmaster during the administration of Pierce and Buchannan; Justice of the Peace for many years and, we believe, at one time County Coroner. He was a man of excellent social qualities, and goes lamented by a wide circle of warm personal friends.

His first wife Katherine died 3/27/1851
