Last Sunday afternoon a large number of relatives and friends gathered at the German Lutheran church to pay their last respects to a respected citizen, Fred Rebaschus Sr., who had passed away at his home on East Mission Street last Thursday evening. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Fritschel, who spoke very comforting words to the bereaved ones. His illness was short but he bore his suffering patiently and was ready to meet his God. His two children, Mrs. F. M. Allen of Davenport and Carl Rebaschus, a nurse in the hospital at St. Paul, were called and assisted in caring for him, but in spite of loving hands, Death claimed him. He was born in Germany and came to this country when quite young. Besides his wife he leaves three daughters and three sons: Mrs. F. M. Allen of Davenport, Mrs. Howard Bowman of this place and Miss Mary at home, Fred Jr., and Amiel of this place and Carl who is nursing in the hospital at St. Paul; also one step[daughter and two step-sons, Mrs. Chris. Fliehler and E. F. Donath of this place and John Donath of Minneapolis, who was unable to be present at the funeral. Mr. Rebaschus' hard labors are through but his good deeds will live forever. Interment took place in our beautiful cemetery.
