Davenport, Ia. - Services for Jacob Accola, 89, of Davenport and formerly of Dubuque, were held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Runge Chapel, Daveport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. Mr. Accola died Friday in the Good Samaritan Home at Davenport after a brief illness.
His first wife, Marie Hoyer, died in 1948 and his second wife, Mayme Lippert, in 1968.
He was employed for 32 years at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1948.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Ursula) Henning and Mrs. Helmuth (Aurelia) Willers, both of Davenport; a son, Jackson H. of Davenport; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Clint Miller of Des Moines; two stepsons, David Lippert of Los Angeles, Calif. and John Lippert of Dubuque; and six sisters, Mrs. Ursula Kaune, Mrs. Christina Conzell, Mrs. Margaret Schlung and Mrs. Rosie Ahrendt, all of Dubuque, Mrs. Hilda Conrade of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Mathilda Royce of Sacramento, Calif.
Memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran Church at Davenport, the Good Samaritan Home or the Heart Fund.

Another obit from the Times-Democrat in Davenport gave the following additional details: Born in Schiers, Switzerland; 1st marriage was in 1915, 2nd marriage in Minneapolis in 1950.Neither of the obits mention that he was a photographer in Strawberry Point for several years before he married Marie Hoyer.
