Word was passed around Tuesday evening that our aged friend and neighbor, Mrs. Margaret Collins, had quietly passed from our midst at 4 o'clock at the age of eighty-seven years. Altho being in very poor health for so long, we were all socked to hear of her death. This dear old lady was always ready with a smile and a cheerful word and as long as health permitted, ever ready with a helping hand among neighbors, friends and church work, where she will be greatly missed. She leaves to mourn her departure her son, Robert at home, three step-children, Joe Collins, of Montana, Wright of Arkansas, Mrs. Frank Bloxham of Postville with their families and a host of friends. Her oldest son and husband passed away the past summer. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Ackman of Monona, burial in Hardin cemetery.
