Recluse Found Dead in Hut on Elk Creek.
Roy Kafer, a young man about 25 years of age, was found dead in a hut in which he lived on Elk Creek, says the Edgewood Journal. Ed. Andres and Chas Gleason, who had been hunting, and had not seen Mr. Kafer around for several days, went to the house and found the body. At the coroner's inquest it was found that the man had been dead for several days, dying of appendicitis.

Roy Kafer, a trapper and hunter, was found dead in his bed on Tuesday morning in his cabin on Elk Creek about seven miles south of town by Ed. Endriss and Claude Gleason two neighbors who had not seen him about his premises for a week. Deceased was about twenty-four years of age and was living alone his wife having left him about two weeks before. A coroners inquest was held and it was found that deceased died from appendicitis and the body had apparently been dead three or four days. Interment was at Brookshier Cemetery.
