Clayton County Register, Wed., 11 Dec. 1935.

Funeral services for Mrs. F. W. Fenton, a former resident of this place but for the last two years of Dundee, were held at the local Methodist church Monday afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. James P. Gable. The five sons and son-in-law, Harold Kramer, were pallbearers. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Mrs. Fenton, nee Mary V. Wagoner, daughter of Rueben and Mary Wagoner, was born Oct. 9, 1874, at Newton, Iowa, and passed away Nov. 29th, 1935. When Mary was seven years old her father died. On October 11, 1872, she was united in marriage to Francis W. Fenton of Fulton, Iowa. To this union were born eleven children of which Earl, Flossie and an infant passed away at early ages. Surviving are the husband and the following children: Dr. V. G. Fenton of Manchester, Mrs. Fern Hute of Iron Hill, Mrs. Hazel Kramer, Lloyd Fenton and Wilbur Fenton of Strawberry Point, Eldon Fenton, Lowell Fenton and Myrtie Fenton at home. There are also eighteen grandchildren. Mrs. Fenton was always a real home woman, always ready to administer help to her loved ones. As her health failed rapidly towards the last and she was not able to work she took up writing and during that time she wrote a number of poems. The husband will miss his true helpmate. The children and grandchildren will miss one that loved them dearly. Mrs. Fenton also leaves two sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Alice Cox of Edinburg, Pa., Mrs. Lena Kifer of Zwingle, Charley Wagoner of Newton, and John Wagoner of Colton, Calif. Mrs. Fenton was taken as a member in the German Reform church in the year 1900. She was also a member of the Rebekah lodge at Fulton for several years.

(Note: Names and dates were clear in the article. Submitter has no explanation for the apparent birth and marriage date error or the absence of two of her surviving brothers names.)
