Clayton County Register, Thur., 5 Sept. 1935.

Betsey Epeseth, who died at her home in Highland township from an attack of apoplexy after an illness of two days, on August 27th, was born in Nass, Hallingdale, Norway, on Sept 29, 1855. At the time of her death she had reached the age of 79 years, ten months and 26 days.

The deceased came to this country in 1874 with her parents, Sever and Carrie (Hulverson) Halgrenson, first settling in Wisconsin. Later they came to this county to settle in Highland township.

She received her education at the place of her birth, but most of her life was spent in domestic work. For a time she homesteaded in North Dakota, but has been a resident of Highland township since 1927, to which place she returned after her stay in North Dakota.

Her mother died in 1896, while death claimed her father in 1903. Funeral services were held at the Highland Lutheran church last Friday afternoon with burial in the Highland cemetery, the Rev. G. Gunsten officiating.

Miss Epeseth leaves to mourn her death the two brothers and two sisters, Stener and Carrie Epeseth, here in Highland, Syvert in Buxton, N. Dak., and Belle Epeseth in San Francisco, Calif, besides many other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Albert Larson, Alex Pagan, Embret Gunderson, Orville Larson, Louie Gregerson, and Hulver Thompson.

Friends from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Weibel and daughter, Vivian, of Waterloo.

Card of Thanks.

We wish to extend our sincere thanks for the assistance and sympathy expressed during the illness and at the death of Betsey Epeseth.

Steiner Severson, Carrie Epeseth, Mrs. Weibel, Miss Vivian Weibel.
