FRED NIEHAUS
Strawberry Point, Ia.—Special: Fred Niehaus, 63, died at his farm home Tuesday following a long illness. He was operated on at Waterloo several months ago for cancer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at St. Sebald Lutheran Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Paul Eilers. Burial will be in the Strawberry Point Cemetery.
Mr. Niehaus, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Niehaus, was born near Elkader on Feb. 9, 1876. When four years old, he went with his parents to Kansas where he resided until 17 years ago, at which time he came back to Clayton Center. On Sept. 14, 1899 he was married to Henrietta Pfanger.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Louie of Waterloo, and Bernard and Raymond, both of Strawberry Point; two daughters, Mrs. Theodore Schuchman of Strawberry Point and LaVera of Waterloo; and five grandchildren; three brothers, John of Whiting, Kans., George of Peadokee, Kans., and Herman of Sylvan Grove, Kans., and one sister, Mrs. Will Stunkel of Lenora, Kans.
