Guttenberg: Michael Barry, pioneer resident of the Turkey River community, passed away at his farm home near Turkey River on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the age of 81 years. He had been ill for some time previous to his death. Mr. Barry was born in Ireland, later coming to America. For many years he was successfully engaged in Millville township. He was also employed by the Milwaukee Railroad company for some time. Mr. Barry was a faithful member of the Catholic church. His death is deeply mourned by his wife, three sons, Frank and Patrick of Millville township and George of La Motte; two daughters, Mrs. C. Fuerst of Dubuque and Mrs. John W. Smith of near Turkey River; a number of grandchildren and many other relatives and friends, who will sadly miss him. The funeral was held Wednesday morning. The body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Key West in Dubuque county. Mr. Barry was a man who stood for justice and righteousness at all times. To know him was to like him.
