August C. Heiller, Sr.
August C. Heiller Sr., 70 years old, formerly of this city but for the past several years living at Sibley, Iowa, with his daughter, Mrs. Ben Timmerman and family, died at that place Wednesday of last week, June 15.
Born at Garnavillo April 10, 1857, Mr. Heiller moved to Guttenberg as a young man and remained here for many years working at the wagon making trade. August 17, 1878 he was united in marriage to Louise Thiesse [Thiese?] in this city and this union were born seven children, three of whom with his wife have preceded him in death.
Services were held at Sibley and the body brought here on Saturday of last week for burial. The body was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Herboldsheimer, old time friends, and from there final funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at one o’clock, the Rev. R. R. Belter, officiating, with burial in the city cemetery.
He is survived by three sons and one daughter, who are Mrs. Ben Timmerman, of Sibley, August Heiller, of Nassau, Minn., Herbert Heiller, of Little Rock, and John Heiller, of Eagelwood, Col. One brother, two sisters, twenty grand children and two great grand children besides many distant relatives and a host of friends also remain to mourn his loss.
