Clayton County Register, Thur., 28 Mar. 1935.
Helen Elizabeth Ulish, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Ulish, was born in Giard township, September 11, 1918, and died Monday evening, March 18, 1935, at the age of sixteen years, six months and seven days.
Helen was an invalid for about six years, but in spite of her affliction was an industrious girl, always mindful of others, and was helpful and anxious not to be a burden to anyone. She loved company, and friends frequently found their way to her for a few minutes of pleasant conversation. She was especially fond of children, and took delight in doing things for the little folks. Her life was devoted to good things, and she became more and more a constant reader of the Bible and often resorted to prayer for guidance and help. It was in answer to her prayers that the Heavenly Father took her to his home above where is neither sickness, sorrow, pain or death.
She leaves to mourn her passing her bereaved father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John G. Ulish; a brother, Roy; two grandmothers, Mrs. Lizzie Ulish and Mrs. Herman Koth; ten uncles and aunts; besides a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Methodist church, Monona, Thursday afternoon, at two o'clock, March 21, 1935, by the Rev. Louis H. Joslin. Burial was made in the city cemetery.
The sympathy of the Register is extended Mr. and Mrs. Ulish and son, Roy.
