August Horsch, former long-time resident of Guttenberg, passed away at the county home in Read township on last Thursday morning at the age of 74 years, four months and fifteen days, following a several weeks' illness. Mr. Horsch was born at Guttenberg, Iowa, on October 29, 1860, where he grew to manhood. While a resident of Guttenberg he was employed in sawmills here for many years. He also was a resident of Dubuque for a number of years, being employed as a farm laborer. He never married. He had been an inmate of the county home for the past two years. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Henry Fricke and Miss Maggie Horsch, of here, and numerous other relatives and friends. The funeral was held Friday.
