Clayton County Register, Thur. 28 Feb. 1935. Volga City News columns.

Cynthia Cardelia Blair, daughter of Charles and Louisa Blair, was born January 22, 1864, at Elkader, Iowa, and departed this life February 13, 1935, at Akron, Colorado, at the age of 71 years and 22 days.

Her early life was spent with her parents, living on a farm near Volga City, Iowa. In the year of 1910 she went to Bennett, Colorado, where she homesteaded a tract of land. On September 15, 1910, she was united in marriage to Henry A. Hunt. They lived on her homestead until the death of her husband in Jan., 1914. In March, 1914, she moved to Laredo, Missouri, with her foster brother, Fred Ebendorf. In April, 1924, they again moved to Woodrow, Colorado. Here, with her brother, and family, she lived on a ranch the rest of her remaining days until the day previous to her death, when she was taken to Akron for medical aid.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Adella Ambrose, of Volga City, Iowa; one foster brother, Fred Ebendorf, of Woodrow, Colorado; two ______ (looks like step)daughters, Mrs. Mamie W___ (looks like Wayt) of _______ (looks like seven letters ending with a k), Neb., and Mrs. Elsie Shell of Caldwell, Idaho; thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.

She united with the Methodist church at an early age and was true in her belief. Her cheerfulness and willingness to help any way for the betterment of others, made her many friends, and she was highly respected by all who knew her.

Hers has been a life of long suffering, extending over a period of seventeen years. When able, she was ever busy helping with the household duties and doing what she could for the church with the assurance of conviction that she was doing things assigned for her by the All Wise Creator. Even in her sickness she grumbled not at the way of providence, but fully realized that it was part of the program. The sun set, and it was a glorious twilight. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord.

The body was brought to Ken_ington, Saturday morning, February 16. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church there at two o'clock. Interment was in the family lot in the Germantown cemetery beside her husband.
