Former Resident of Guttenberg Is Dead
_______Arthur Aulwes, a former resident of this community, passed away at his home at Detroit, Michigan, recently, according to word received by relatives in Guttenberg.
Deceased was born on a farm in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Aulwes (now deceased), where he grew to manhood. He was about 52 years old when called by death. He was married at Clayton, Iowa, to Miss Emma Stamm. He resided at points in South Dakota and Minnesota for a time, but of late years Mr. Aulwes and family have been residents of Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Aulwes will be remembered by many of our older residents. He was a man of a pleasing personality and was a kind and true husband, father, brother and friend. His untimely death is deeply mourned by his wife, several children, three brothers, four sisters and numerous other relatives and friends, who will all sadly miss this good and true man. The funeral was held at Detroit.
Deceased was a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Aulwes, of Guttenberg.
