Sarah Elizabeth Flack, the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Flack, was born July 7, 1948, in Tippicanoe county, Ind., being 86 years old. In 1864 she was married to George McGood, and they were the parents of two children, George E. and Elizabeth Dorcas, the latter being the only surviving child. On Nov. 24, 1873, she was married to John Mitchell, and four daughters were born to them, Mrs. Laura Sherbonda and Mrs. Myrtle Gies of Monona, Helen E. Carmichael of Cedar Rapids, and Jessie R., deceased. Mr. Mitchell died July 22, 1920. One brother, Robert Flack, also survives her.
Mrs. Mitchell was active in the Methodist church circles, having served as an officer in the Ladies Aid society.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Carl G. Schultz funeral home to the First Methodist church at 1:30, by the pastor, Rev. Louis H. Joslin, and burial was made in the (Monona) city cemetery.
