Sharon R. Kadlec, 67, of Royal Oaks Care Center, Kewanee, Ill., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, March 2, 2006, in the care center after a sudden illness. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Burial: 2 p.m. Thursday, St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Monona.

Survivors include a sister, Virginia Peterson of Oelwein.

She is also survived by a nephew, Scott Lestina and his wife, Jennifer, of Glendale, Ariz.; a niece, Kimberly Lestina of Coralville; two great-nephews, Jacob and Austin Lestina, both of Glendale, Ariz.; and special friends, Jeff Skow and Pastor Kay Slocum.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine.

Sharon was born May 26, 1938, in McGregor, the daughter of Alois and Helen Meyer Kadlec. Sharon graduated from Monona High School in 1956 and received a nursing degree from Marshalltown in 1958.

Memorial donations may be given to First Lutheran Church in Sharon's name.
