News of the death of Earl Wade reached Ed and Mattie Livingood here last week. Wade was the son of the late Dell and Mary Branch Wade, formerly of Elkader. He died in a hospital at Oak Harbor, Wash., on June 11, 1949, following an operation.

Earl Wade was born in Elkader and received his education in the Elkader school. He learned his trade as tinner and plumber at the Brown and Bahr hardware in Elkader. He is survived by his wife and five married daughters.

An uncle, Leigh Wade, of Springfield, Mo., is now the last remaining member of his family.

(Note: His relationship to the Livingood family, if any, is unknown.)
