From the Thursday, 12 January 1905 issue of “The Elkader Register,” Obituary section, page 3, column 4:

MRS. EMIL MUSCHEWSKE.

The sad news of the death of Mrs. Emil Muschewske, of Patton, Cal., was received by relatives in Elkader yesterday the cause of her death being that dread disease, consumption.

They were united in marriage in Mendota, Wis., in the year 1897, and went to California about six years ago. She was about thirty years of age. Her husband and two small children mourn the departure into eternity of a good wife and mother, and Elkader friends will mourn with them.—Democrat.

*Maiden name is from the obit of her husband.
