Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Bunting, 78, were held from the McTaggart funeral home at 1:45 o'clock Saturday afternoon and the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.
Mrs. Bunting died at the Bethany Home for the aged in Dubuque, Wednesday, April 6, 1949.
Emma Feller was born near Elgin, Iowa, October 25, 1870, the daughter of John and Magdaline Schori Feller. Her early years were spent in Boardman township, Clayton county, where she attended school.
She was united in marriage at Farmersburg, Iowa, to Charles Fredrick Bunting, December 31, 1902. To this union was born one son, Orville Charles Bunting, now superintendent of school at Waterville, Iowa.
They established their home at Farmersburg, Iowa, and later moved the Michigan where husband and father died in 1916. Mrs. Bunting returned to Iowa with her small son and located at Elgin where she was an active member in the Methodist church. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge.
In 1943 her health began to fail and in 1945 she became a member of the Bethany Home where she received physical and spiritual care until her death.
Surviving besides the son are three brothers and two sisters, also three grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews. The three brothers are, George Feller, Osborne, Charles and Henry Feller, Elgin; two sisters, Mrs. L. J. (Ida) Cooley, Dubuque, Mrs. Louie Hadrich, Billings, Mont.
She was preceded in death by a sister and brother, namely: Mrs. Herman (Mary) Bunting and John Feller.
Pallbearers were six nephews: William Feller, Forest Feller, Harry Feller, Merlin Feller, Earl Cooley, Clifford Feller.
