Funeral services for Mrs. Amelia Mueller, 82, were held from the home in Read township Thursday afternoon, Dec. 30, at 1:30 o'clock to the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.

Mrs. Amelia Mueller was born Dec. 26, 1866, in Farmersburg township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Pahlas, and died at her home in Read township Monday, Dec. 27, following a stroke suffered on Christmas day. She had reached the age of 82 years and one day.

Mrs. Mueller had spent her entire life in this community. She was married to Herman Mueller at Clayton Center, Dec. 19, 1890. The young couple started housekeeping on the farm on which she lived until her death.

She was a member of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church.

She is survived by six children, Herman L. Mueller, Harvey Mueller, Harry Mueller, and Mrs. Henry Reimer, all of Elkader, Mrs. Bertha Weise, Dubuque, and Herbert Mueller, St. Olaf, together with one sister, Mrs. Henrietta Kalbaum, Elkader; fourteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in October, 1938, and a daughter, Irvenia, in October, 1930.

Pallbearers were Reuben Nydegger, Geo. Kahlbaum, Louie Glawe, Fred Lahrs, Art Huckstadt, and Edwin Glawe.

(Note: Both spellings of Kalbaum/Kahlbaum were used in the obit.)
