Violet R. Mellon, 76, of Guttenberg died Saturday, Aug. 11, 1990, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church and were conducted by Father Paul Peters.

Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery with the following pallbearers: Joseph Mellon, Mark Mellon, Mike Vorwald, Jack Hochberger, Will Mellon, and Kenny Palm.

The St. Anne Rosary Society service was Monday afternoon and the scripture wake service that evening at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mellon was a daughter of Lebrious and Helen (Roskup) Palm. She was married June 27, 1942, at Cleveland, Ohio, to Leo F. Mellon, who died Feb. 11, 1978. Mrs. Mellon helped with St. Mary's lunch program and was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Ann Mellon of Solon; two sons, Joseph and Mark, both of Guttenberg; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Cletus Palm, all of Dubuque; three sisters, Mrs. Wilfred (Marie) Noel and Mrs. Elmer (Callista) Hilken, both of Dubuque, and Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Winters of Newhall, Calif.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, and two brothers, LeRoy and Clifford.
