Elkader Register, Thur., 20 Nov. 1924.

Henry O. Embretson was born July 21, 1868, of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Gronhard, on the old homestead. Here he lived his entire life, devoting his life to the interests of the farm and home and the beautiful home he leaves is a reminder of his efforts. On last Monday he was run over by a load of corn. After closing the gate, in some way, just how, no one will know as no one saw the accident. He was picked up unconscious and in spite of all that medical aid could do, passed away Tuesday morning Nov. 1, reaching the age of 56 years. He never regained consciousness.

He was united in marriage to Belle Benson who with the children, Orvan and Adelia, mourn the loss of a dear husband and father. He was a good neighbor also being loyal to country and the church to which he always gave his full support. What is our loss is his gain.

Besides the grief stricken family and friends he leaves one sister, Mrs. L. Larson of Fa__ton, Minn.; five brothers, Embret of St. Olaf, Lars of Calispell, Mont., Knut of Zumbrota, Minn., Otto of Oelwein, and L. Ludvig of this neighborhood. Two sisters have preceded him in death, Annie and Mrs. Jacob Larson.

All were present at the funeral except Lars of Montana, who was unable to come. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Rev. Gunsten of Clermont officiating, from the Norway Lutheran church, where a host of friends came to pay their last respects to a kind neighbor and friend, and to sympathize with the bereaved family.

"But let us leave him to his rest,
And homeward turn, for he is blest,
And we must all our souls prepare,
When death shall come to meet him there.
So help us Christ, our hope in loss,
Thou hast redeemed us by thy Cross,
From endless death and misery,
We praise, and bless and worship Thee."
