Dunn, Walter Irving 1923 - 1924

Elkader Register, Thur., 30 Oct. 1924. Volga City News.

Walter Irving Dunn, the nineteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Dunn, met death by drowning yesterday (Tuesday) forenoon.

The little fellow while his parents were busy about the farm, slipped out of doors and found his way to a small creek just a short distance from the house. Mrs. Dunn, in a short while missed him, and on going to look for him, found his lifeless body in the creek, the water being only about a foot deep. Medical assistance was immediately summoned and everything possible was done, but all efforts to restore life proved fruitless.

Walter Irving was born on March 15th, 1923, and being the only child, was the flower of the household, and his sudden death has brought great grief to his parents.

Funeral services will probably be held on Thursday, October 30th.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Dunn in the loss of their only son.- Volga City News.
