Elkader Register, Thur., 3 July 1924.

Peter Conboy was born in Man- (next line blurred) he received his education in the district schools and there spent his early boyhood days, until 1864 when he came with his parents to Clayton County, Iowa. He farmed several years in Clayton County; later he learned the carpenter trade, which he worked at in Clayton County and different points in western Iowa. After the death of his aged parents he went in November 1887 to Sioux City, Iowa, and later to Pumroy, Iowa, where he made his home until July 1922 when he went to Elberta, Michigan, to make his home with his nephew John Conboy, at whose home he died at the age of 79 years and 12 days.

Mr. Conboy enjoyed good health until a few weeks previous to his death, he took a hard cold which he found difficulty in recovering from and on May 21st he became ill with kidney and bladder trouble. Medical aid was summoned at once and hopes were entertained for his recovery until two days before his death there was a change for the worse and he grew rapidly weaker until on June 2d at two o'clock p.m. his spirit passed to its maker.

He was a devout lifelong member of the Catholic church and he died fortified by the rights of that church.

"Uncle Pete Conboy" as he was favorably known, was a man of honest, upright integrity and his many neighborly acts of love and kindness will be remembered by his neighbors, friends and relatives to the end of their lives. He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Conboy, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hurley, Mrs. Ann McKin___ and Mrs. Catherine Hurley, and is survived by one brother, Michael Conboy, of Elberta, Michigan, also several nieces and nephews.

Relatives from a distance who came to attend the funeral were a nephew, Peter Conboy of Austin, Minn., and a niece, Miss Ana Conboy of Volga City, Iowa. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church at Frackford, Mich, Rev. Father Baumann officiating and interment made at the cemetery at Elberta, Mich. Six nephews who acted as pall bearers were Earl Moyna, Loy Moyna, Irwin Moyna, John Rohn, Walter Rohn and Lyle White.

May he rest in peace.
