The death of Mrs. Thos. Jewell occurred at her home last Saturday afternoon after a lingering illness. Funeral services occurred in the M.E. church Monday afternoon conducted by the Dundee pastor Rev. Carloff, and a number of relatives and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the departed one. She leaves her husband and seven children to mourn her death. Interment took place in the local cemetery beside her son who died during the Worlds' War at France.

Note: Her full name is from the obit of her husband Thomas, who died in 1950. The dates are from her gravestone in the Strawberry Point cemetery: 5/8/1861-6/14/1924
