Elkader Register, Thur., 12 June 1924.

As genuine Christians we look down upon our dear young sister and are inclined to say in deep sorrow and yet in joy; "The Silver Cord is loosed, the Golden Bowl is broken." Death, the angel of peace came and called our sister away Monday, June 2nd, 9:00 a.m., from this valley of tears to the land of cheer, charm and delight. Our departed sister is Mrs. Olando Marting, nee Lembke. She saw this earthly world's light June 3rd, 1899, in Read township, Clayton County, Iowa. October 22nd of the same year she received the sacrament of the Holy Baptism in the Zions Lutheran Church at Clayton Center. She grew up under the bright sunshine of God's grace and of her parents love. March 16th, 1913, our dear sister was confirmed in the above quoted church. She always was in truth a loving daughter, an amiable sister. August 25th, 1920, she was united in marriage to her mourning husband Orlando Marting. To this blessed union was born one child receiving in the holy Baptism the names "Wayne Dennis."

In the evening of May21st our departed sister went to the hospital of Dr. White at Elkader. She has had all the time of her life a weak heart. In the hospital she was attacked by pneumonia causing her so early death. She should bring her earthly pilgrimage by merely 24 years, 11 months and 29 days.

Her mourning husband, Orlando Marting, her sorrowing father, Henry Lembke, are standing in deepest mourn and grief. She leaves three sisters and two brothers, namely: William Lembke, Read twp.; George Lembke, Read twp.; Mrs. Chas. Best, Read twp.; Mrs. Arthur Klinge and Mrs. Arthur Staake, Read twp. Three sisters, namely: Miss Alma Lembke, Miss Amanda Lembke and Mrs. Theodore Glawe, Farmersburg twp., together with one brother, Mr. Henry Lembke, preceded her in death. Her beloved mother died May 21st, 1918. She lost her dear mother, Mrs. Henry Lembke, nee Radloff, six years ago. Our departed sister found her last resting place in the cemetery of the Zion Lutheran church at Clayton Center. Like to set forth the fact that she took the Lord's Supper, Easter, in the Lutheran church at Farmersburg. Funeral services were held in the mourning house, in the Farmersburg church and at the grave by Rev. Wm. Wuestenberg.

May our departed sister rest in peace. May she see the dawn of eternity. She will triumphantly exclaim with the inspired poet:

O, love, that will not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in Thee;

I give Thee back the Life I owe,
That in Thine ocean depths it's flow,
May richer, fuller be.

O, Light that followed all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to Thee;
My heart restores it's borrowed ray,
That in Thine sunshine's blaze it's day,
May brighter, fairer be !
