Marie Margaret Phillips

Funeral services for Marie Margaret Phillips were held last Friday afternoon at the Methodist church, Rev. S.F. Kenderline officiating.

She was born in McGregor March 21, 1901, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Phillips. She attended the McGregor school, later working in her brother's insurance office, and after her father's death continued his grocery business for a short time. She was an active member of the church, and was connected with the work of the Sunday School and choir for years.

Her health began to fail several years ago, and the extreme nervous condition finally became so severe that she was sent to the hospital at Independence, where she died March 10 at the age of 36 years.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Adena Baglin of Hollywood, Calif., and Mrs. Ruth Brooks of McGregor. She is the fourth of her family to pass away in the past seven years, her mother dying seven years ago, her father four years ago, and her only brother, Fred Phillips, of Cedar Rapids, last August. Burial was made in Pleasant Grove cemetery.
