Henry Reinow [sic], father of Mrs. J.M. Morse and Prof. Robt. Reinow, of this place, died Monday morning Jan. 16th after a short illness with pneumonia. He was about 73 years old.
He leaves two sons and three daughters to mourn his demise. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family. The funeral was held Tuesday, Mr. Rienow being laid away beside the remains of his wife who preceded him in death a few years ago.

Obituary
Henry Rienow was born near Strasburg, Germany, in the year 1833, and died in this city Monday morning, Jan. 16th, age 71 years.He came to this country landing in New York City when 20 years of age and went to Buffalo where he worked on the first suspension bridge tat spanned Niagara Falls. He crossed this bridge on the cables before it was completed and was one of the first men to accomplish the feat.
He moved to Milwaukee and for a number of years was in the employ of the Milwaukee road and assisted in the construction of the Prairie du Chien division. Mr. Rienow was in the employ of the Stauer & Daubenburger Lumber Co. for a large number of years both in this city and McGregor. He moved to this city in 1884 and has been a continuous resident ever since.
Two sons, George, of this city, and Robert Rienow, of Elkader, and four daughters, Mrs. Morse, of Elkader; Mrs. Bean, of National; Mrs. Wm. Evans, of La Crosse, and Mrs. Morse, of La Crosse, survive him.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in the Lowertown cemetery. - Prairie du Chien Union
