Elkader Register, Thur., 18 Oct. 1906. Monona column.

The friends of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Burnham were very much shocked over the sudden death of Mrs. Burnham. Suffering a great deal all were still in hopes of her recovery, but she passed beyond, Wednesday, at 2:25 a.m. Burial in Monona cemetery Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Services at the M.E. church.

(Note: This is an apparent reference to Julia Burnham, 1846 - 10 Oct. 1906, who the WPA records show as buried in Monona cemetery.)
