Sunday night, August 26, at 11:00 o'clock occurred the death of Frank P. Richardson at his home east of this city, after an illness of several weeks. The funeral was held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Drew preaching the Sermon. Mr. Richardson was born at Cannan, New Hampshire, Aug. 18, 1838. With his parents he came to Iowa in October, 1859, settling in Clayton county. He has lived here ever since with the exception of eight years spent at Newell, Iowa. He was married to Maria Axtell, of Strawberry Point, Oct. 4, 1871. One child was born to them, Ethel R., who died at the age of two years. He was one of the honored pioneers of this section - a man respected by all for his manly character.
