Elkader Register, Thur., 23 Aug. 1906.

William Theo Hawarth, only son of J. L. and F. J. Hawarth, was born in Monona, Iowa, Oct. 25th, 1878. He departed this life Aug. 18, 1906. Five years ago he went to Oklahoma and while living on his claim, being much exposed, he contracted consumption. He returned to his home June 2nd, 1905, broken in health. Continuing to decline in strength he endured his sufferings patiently to the end. The funeral was held from the Methodist church, Rev. Williams speaking from 2 Sam. 18:29. Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Walters were permitted to be with their brother in his last hours. The remaining sister, Mrs. Lane, was in Plum _____ (looks like Conle or Coule), Manitoba, and was not permitted to be with her loved ones in their bereavement.
