Bayless, Winnifred Pearl 1905 - 1906

Elkader Register, Thur., 9 Aug. 1906.

Sunday morning the angel of death visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bayless and took from them their adopted daughter Winnifred Pearl, aged 11 months and 16 days. The little one was born Aug. 20th, 1905, and had been with them since October. The little Pearl was too tender to withstand the struggle with whooping cough. Winnifred had become so entwined in the hearts of her adopted parents that it was a sad affliction to give her up. The funeral was held Monday morning, Rev. A. S. Hock officiating. Misses Ruth Corlett, Lina Stemmer, Jessie Wilke and Lucy Meyer carried the precious form to its last resting place.
